pośród chmielu i czeremchy
pośród bzu koralowego
pośród szyszek drzew olchowych
pośród iw pośród leszczyny
w chaszczu wierzb nad samą wodą

jeże zjedzą moje oczy
lisy moje nogi zgryzą
mrówki kości mi wybielą

i brązowy goły czerep
spojrzy wiosną na kaczeńce
i na niezapominajki

They shall not put me in the pit
they shall put me on a causeway

among hops and bird cherries
among coral-coloured lilacs
among cones of alder trees
among great-sallows among hazels
in a thicket of willows right beside the water

hedgehogs will eat my eyes
foxes will gnaw off my legs
ants will bleach my bones

and in spring a brown naked skull
will look upon marigolds
and forget-me-nots
